Are you a senior employee in development cooperation and the humanitarian sector and do you have extensive experience in developing and managing international projects? Do you want to contribute to Tearfund's mission to doing justice together? Then we are looking for you!
As senior International Program Officer, you will focus on working closely with local partner organizations in designing and implementing structural and humanitarian programs primarily in Africa and Asia. Together with other staff you will be responsible for the design, PME and learning of our programs. At the heart of our work is collaboration with the local church because we believe in the power of the church and its Integral Mission. We as Tearfund also regularly enter into collaborative coalitions within the sector around certain themes or sectors. Think, for example, of cooperation around an acute or chronic humanitarian crisis, or a long-term partnership around peacebuilding or sustainability.
In this position you will maintain good cooperation, relationships and exchange with the Tearfund country offices and partners from the Netherlands. You travel to partner organizations and projects and represent Tearfund to fellow NGOs and to (institutional) donors. You ensure timely and adequate implementation that meets Tearfund quality standards and sponsor expectations and procedures. And you are part of one or more regional teams and possibly project or expertise teams at the organizational level.
In addition, part of your job description may consist of general DMEAL tasks in which you support the organization in formulating results and setting up methods for data collection.
You have demonstrable knowledge and experience in one or more of these subjects:
You wholeheartedly agree with Tearfund's vision and mission and you are motivated to demonstrate and commit to it. In applying so, you endorse the international 'minimum standards preventing and sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA)'.
We are a Dutch organization and strive for inclusion and diversity, and welcome people who do not speak the Dutch language. Fluent English is a prerequisite. The position is based in the Netherlands.
Then email your motivation letter and CV no later than January 15th 2025 to info@tearfund.nl. For more information about the role, you can call Martin Herlaar on telephone number +31 (0)6 204 35 813 or Martha Zonneveld, telephone number +31 (0)6 10 352 248, preferably after January 6th. We aim that the first interview will take place in the week of January 27th 2025.
Tearfund places great importance on the safety of people and therefore we do not accept any form of abuse. Requesting references will therefore be part of the selection process. As Tearfund is a signatory to the Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme, we carry out a reference check regarding integrity and a ‘Statement of Conduct’ (related to misconduct such as sexual abuse) and it is mandatory to sign a Personal Declaration of Integrity. In addition, requesting a recent Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and signing a Code of Conduct are mandatory when joining Tearfund.
For fifty years, Tearfund has helped people from poverty and injustice. We provide assistance worldwide through local organizations, churches and through the support of our donors. We build resilient communities and support where necessary. Doing justice is a Biblical command. We help where we can and encourage people to make the world a better place. We believe that doing justice abroad, starts nearby. Because what we do in our daily lives affects the world. We encourage people to make a difference in their daily lives here. We do this through initiatives in the Netherlands such as Happietaria, The Justice Conference and GroenGelovig.
